Crime Alert

Be on the look out for crooks and people vandalising property in Robesonia.  There have been a slew of break-ins-Christmas ornaments stolen and/or destroyed-paint ball being used on houses and car-break-ins. This has happened in Heidelberg Township as well as in the boro.  If you see any suspicious people hanging around please call the local police to have them checked out.  We have a much larger number of creepy people that have moved into our once safe little towns.  Watch out for your neighbors.  LOCK the doors to your houses and cars.  If you have seen anything please add it to the blog and report it to the local police.

Freedom or Health

Recently a local company implemented a $11.56 a week or $600.00 a year charge for all of their smoking employees.  Seems to cross a line that we may all be facing as America becomes more and more a social country.  What's next $15.00 a week if you are over weight?  How about $20 a week if you enjoy cocktails after work or on weekends?  Maybe $20 a week if you use a tanning bed?  Where does this kind of payroll deduction end?  Is it legal?  If you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them.  This charge is affecting the paycheck of someone I care very much about, who works hard for his money and must agree to pay the fee, stop smoking and or enroll in a stop smoking program.  Who has the right to demand how we choose to live our lives.  Everyone knows the risks of smoking.  Do I wish they all would quit?  Yes.  Do I think they should be charged through their workplace because they choose to smoke?  No.

Make the next election work for America!

These are some of the changes we want to hear and have implemented from the next presidential candidates and those seeking offices that influence the changes needed to get this country back on the right track.

Make Congress pay into the Social Security, Welfare, & Healthcare systems.  Maybe if it was their money they'd be more interested in fixing the flaws and controlling the costs and benefits.

There needs to be a limit on how long anyone can hold a political position.  This would end the "old boys" networks from their unfair and mostly corrupt grouping.  A change of ideas every 4 years is a good thing.  There has to be a way to get people into these positions that really want to make the neccessary changes and not just collect a paycheck.  If you do get voted in and we are unhappy with what you are doing we should be able to show up in numbers and have you ousted.

Stop illegal immigration period.  If we would have kept our borders secured we could have illiminated 85% of the problems our country is facing today.  It's time to STOP the politically correct bull and get people elected into positions that want these mostly usless, lazy, crmminal, bloodsuckers to be returned to their homelands.  Only allow them visiting rights with the strictest of rules to come in and get out.  We are at the point in most cities that the drain these immigrants are costing just isn't worth the few that make something of theirselves.

Being born here does not make you an automatic citizen that is allowed to start bellying up to the free handout wagon.  No more aid of any kind.  The money we pay into these programs belongs to Americans who fall on bad times.  If you can't afford to come here, stay home. We are drained from feeding you, paying for your housing, medical, and clothing.  You are overcrowing our prisons because you steal from us and only know your crimminal lifestyle.  You have shown us you prefer your corrupt lifestyle.

Stop allowing those elected to vote for their own raises and crack down on expense allowances.  Only an elected official would allow the corruption going on amongst their own.  How does this bizzare crap get passed?  We the people want the high paychecks stoppped and reasonable caps put on these people who just run amock with our money.  We want to start seeing where it goes, what we're getting for it, and who the biggest thieves are so we can get them OUT!  Some of the expenses just released are more than I make in a year of working.  These people are part-timers.

Stop the bailouts.  You fail you fail.  I guarantee if I fail it will be up to me to figure out how I'm going to make it.  What I need to do to fix it and what I did wrong that caused it.  Problem with society today is no matter how hard I work people in higher positions have the right to spend/take my money through taxes.  I can be forced into failure due to all of their mishandling of their jobs.  How is that fair.  There needs to be limits set on how much other people can spend of what we work for.  If your company crashes because you over pay employees or overspend your budget why is that my problem?

Stop the paychecks when your term is over.  Again, who gets paid forever on a job that you did for 4 years and a 100% pension?  I highley doubt anyone reading this will collect a full pension for a job well done for 10 years let alone 4.  What makes them worth more than us?  We work to pay for their luxeries.  And lately very few are working for us.  The man in charge has convinced me he hates Americans, this country, and is set on spending us into a no recovery position before we oust his butt.  When we get him out, fix all his mistakes, secure our borders, stop the sytems fraud gaps, and have all his cronies replaced this country will recover and most likley at a rate they may surprise us.  The blue collar hard working people will be 100% back on track and in support of a government that is working for us and our beliefs.  This doesn't have to be a dream, we have to make it happen and electing the right people is the way we will do it.

English is the language here.  If you can't speak it LEARN it.  No more provisions that make it easier for you to live here and not live by our standards.  Americans don't go to your homelands and demand you speak English, pay for their healthcare, feed them, pay for their housing and live by their religous beliefs.  Don't do it here.

There needs to be a system in place that stops the fraud of the welfare and social security systems.  In New York there was a plan on the table by Rudy (crushed by those politically correct jerks) that crossed checked through fingerprints and social security numbers.  This is a no brainer and should be in full operation NOW!  Do you know how much fraud this would eliminate.  No SS#, no fingerprints, no collecting!  Throw the picture driver's licensein the mix and operation crackdown becomes a part of what we do here in America.
I have neighbors around me collecting in New York then coming to Reading and collecting here.  Why are they getting away with it?  No one checks.  They live here weekends and live in New York during the week.  They keep their New York phone numbers and hide out in Berks County enjoying the money we feed the system.  Some of these people are collecting thousands of dollars in aid while they enjoy home ownership, new cars, and a well stocked frig and freezer.

War.  Sorry who this may offend but, what the hell are we doing in other countries fighting their battles that really should be none of our business.   If our borders were secure terrorists couldn't get in here and they could take out all their rock throwing, bomb making, aggression out on each other.  All the money wasted on fighting this war we are in now is just wrong.  Rebuliding cities we destroy, spending millions of dollars in other counties and still gas is over $2.50 a gallon.  All the lives lost, families destroyed, and we are still no where with these idiots.  What is the point?  United States needs to start worrying about the United States.  Concentrate on our people, our security, our babies, our senior citizens, our jobs, our health and our well being.

Please feel free to comment, good or bad.  I am not publishing this as part of any political party.  I am not being prejudice or heartless.  I am worried about this nation and the direction this president and congress are steering us toward.  We must start a revolution if we are going to fill the positions opening up with people who truly believe in standing up for America as we know it and want it to be.  Congress has got to change so we can stop the out of control spending a bad decisions that are being passed into laws we will all be forced to live by.  If you think you don't make a difference, you are wrong!  Everybody needs to work together and vote for those who can help get us back on the right road to a FREE America.  Trust me this group running the show is slowly but surely going to eliminate our freedoms.

Conrad Weiser Administration/Teacher Salaries

As requested I am posting 2007-2008 salaries of administration and teachers in our Conrad Weiser School District.  I cannot post them all but what I am posting should answer your questions.  I have more of an issue with the OVERPAID administration than I do with most of the teachers.  Keep in mind that in addition to these numbers they enjoy a good health care plan and a nice retirement package.  I admire the work a good teacher does.  My problem is how the schools spend our money and how little control we, as the paying people have in the say of how they spend it.  If the current administration and school board cannot tighten the belt and start lowering costs then it is time to replace them with more educated people with new ideas on how to close the account on our checkbooks. Please share your thoughts and consider taking them to school board meetings.  Go to this link for more information on Berks County Schools, salaries & comparisons.  http://php.app.com/PAteachers/search.php

Property Taxes/Cox Town Hall Meeting

It is hard to find anyone these days that isn't disgusted about property taxes and they showed up December 3rd at Tulpehocken to tell Jim Cox how bad it is.  I admire Marsha Barth, owner of Stouchsburg Nursery for giving some real numbers.  I have been a loyal customer of the nursery and I'm aware of how much money is robbed from us but she really put it out there.  She stated that they are a 20 year old family business that used to employ 12 people.  Now they are down to 5 employees 3 of which are family.  She said they must sell $150,000 worth of merchandise just to pay the property taxes and health insurance.  WHAT?  Yeah, how ridiculous is that?  Does it make the picture clearer as to why there are no businesses, no jobs?  She also stated they work 60-70 hours aweek to pay for people who DON'T WORK!  We all know who they are.  Cox attacked Rendell and the Democrats for spending $10.7 billion on public welfare (the problem).  Cox also agrees that we must start cutting the over paid administrators in our schools.  The fact is that these $100,000 a year jerks are part of the problem facing all of us struggling out here to survive.  What can you, we do?  School board meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month in the high school library.  The December 17th meeting will begin at 6:30pm.  We need to start holding our school board responsible for wasting money on high price individuals that can be replaced with those who will work for a resonable salary in these desperate times.  We need to cut staff and teachers need to accept they have to contribute to their health care and retirement and that they may not get a raise every year.  We are all struggling and most of us involved in this fight to stop the drain on our income are working damn hard right now just to hold onto what we have worked so hard for so many years to own.  I know a few good people in this community that have good ideas to change the way the "good old boys" have been running this rodeo and I think it's about time we start electing them into positions where they can help us!

Pending Teacher Strike

Conrad Weiser teachers are threatening a strike if they do not get a contract soon.  They have been working without a contract since July 1st and claim that the school board is not bargaining in good faith.  Can we really afford a pay raise for teachers?  I didn't get one.  My parents on social security didn't get one.  My son at UPS didn't get one.  I am sorry but as much as I appreciate the job teachers do, we simply cannot afford higher school taxes so that they can get a raise and health benefits.  It is not only seniors being school taxed out of their homes it is a good percent of lower and middle class people as well.  Teachers do need a contract but reasonable would be status quo.  If they strike it could mean no holiday breaks or a June 30th school year.  Not to mention the costs involved for the school to fight them.  If there was a good time to attend school board meetings, this is it.  With all of us struggling and having to find a way to cope why should teachers be any different?  We are all in this together and right now in these tough times it is not fair to ask for more from Conrad Weiser residents.  What do you think?

Robesonia Police Force

Tonight Robesonia is going to decide on merging it's police force with Wernersville. It would make more sense and be smarter cost wise to merge with Heidelberg Township which Supervisors DP Randler and Randy Yoh agree with and are willing to discuss. If we merge with Wernersville be aware that you will no longer be able to go to our local police office with concerns. Bigger is not always better. In this case it is not what is best for our small town (in my opinion). Randy Gartner would like to see the Heidelberg merger over Wernersville and as our new mayor beginning in January he has other ideas that make sense for Robesonia. Once again we have a boro council (the worst in history) that are more interested in power grabbing than doing what is in the best interests of the town. Please call your council members and voice your concerns about this decision. Even to ask for more time to see the projected costs and clearer details of the arrangement. Here are numbers to call:
Pres-Harvey Marshall 610-693-5688
V Pres-Joyce Phillips 610-693-3474 (she does not want to be contacted at home).
Bob Pierce- 610-693-6866
Abby Wertz 610-693-6182
Vernon Bright 610-693-5366
Jeff Gerhart 610-693-5391

Traffic Light Womelsdorf

Almost got creamed today at the Boyer's, CVS traffic light. Who in their "right mind" would change the light function? Womelsdorf Boro Council? Why? Now traffic is coming at you when the light turns green. No more light green you go with no oncoming traffic. I didn't know they changed it and it was nearly a head on crash for me. Beware all. I think this should be changed back! This is surely going to be the site of serious accidents. Isn't that why it was changed? Deadly and serious accidents.

Wernersville prison

Well as I wrote about in the November Our Robesonia they are housing criminals in Wernersville. A newly released prisoner just finished 90 days at the country facility and proceeded to break into homes in Exeter. 4 houses they know of more they suspect. Yes we are lucky he moved out of this area to commit his crimes but the next one could commit any number of offenses right here close to home. I am shocked people are not talking more about this. Over half of the phone calls and emails I received on the subject people were unaware of what was going on on the State Hospital grounds. Wake up my neighbors they are housing, trying to rehab crooks, rapists, abusers...What do you know about or want to share on this subject?

Flu ailment help and Chat

Seems everyone I talk to their children have some version of a sickness going around. Some are far from pretty and a lot of them are down right scary with all the Swine Flu death reports. Some parents have been told to not come to the Doctor for fear of spreading flu while parents panic as they watch very sick kids suffer and are scared about just how serious it may be. If your child has been sick add your experience to the comments on this blog. What you did to ease theie symptoms and what advice your Doctor gave you. What symptoms your child had and if it was diagnosed as the H1N1. Maybe just sharing the experience will help get you through or help another parent going through it.

Crime in Robesonia

Keep your eyes open and feel free to share what you feel may be suspicious. DP Randler and Healthy Paws were both broken into this year. Election signs were destroyed from Church St to Elm St. Maybe you saw something that could solve the "who did it" mysteries. Healthy Paws was most likely broken into by kids because of the items taken. A CD player, change, ceramic toilet that was used to hold pennies. Maybe you have seen the items. Cars were scratched on Meadow Ave. Let's get the talking started and maybe just maybe our own crime watch and alertness can help police solve crimes and catch who commits them.

The begining

I wanted all my local readers and neighbors to have a place to go and share things of interest and concern in our area. After writing the Our Robesonia for almost 6 years I realize I can do more to bring us all together. This is it. A place to come and share your feelings about events, people and the area. A place to share crimes you witness or suspicious activity in the area. Please check in on my blog daily to see what is going on or happened around you that you may not know but need to. Add your comments. You can always get me at vc9722@aol.com. Let's make this work as another tool to take care of each other by being informed. Good or bad we all need to know what our leaders, police, kids and nieghbors are doing if it can open doors to helping each other or stopping crmminal behavior. So, welcome to my blog.
