Children & Youth administrator put on leave

The administrator of Berks County Children & Youth Services has
been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
Krista McIlhaney has been placed on administrative leave with pay,
according to county Solicitor Christine Sadler. She would not give the
reason why Mc-Ilhaney was being investigated or comment further, citing
county policy to not discuss personnel matters.
The Reading Eagle was unable to reach McIlhaney for comment.
McIlhaney became the administrator of Children & Youth Services
in March 2016. According to her LinkedIn profile, her previous roles
included vice president of business operations at Recovery and Wellness Centers and executive director of Luzerne County Children & Youth Services.
The county hired Mc-Ilhaney in 2016 following the retirement of
longtime administrator George M. Kovarie, who retired in December 2014.
